All aboard the Oct-Train! Full Combo Events is proud to bring you another APEX LEGENDS event on Saturday, May 11th!
Squad up and join Full Combo Events in the return to our popular "leaderboard"-style elimination format designed specifically for the hottest game of 2019. Climb your way into the Top Four for the chance at bragging rights as well as a a chance of taking home part of the $750 minimum prize pool!
- TEAMS -
Players are encouraged to enter alone, as Teams of Two, or Teams of Three players:
SOLO ENTRANTS:
Players are welcome to enter without teammates. All Solo Entrants will be combined with other Solos or Teams of Two to create a full Squad for the event.
TEAMS OF TWO:
Is your third unable to make it? No problem. We will make sure as many Teams of Two at our event receive a third player from among the Solo Entrants who are participating in the event.
In the event of there being not enough "solo" players to act as a third to teams of two, some teams of two may be asked to compete in the event without a third player from our event; the "random" who ends up on your team each round will have their kills calculated into your score.
The silver lining: competing as a Team of Two means you split your prize money with two players, not three! High-risk, but potentially high reward. This option will only be made available to select teams of two after no more solo players are available.
TEAMS OF THREE:
Come as you are! Apex is a team-based game, and we want to see as many fleshed out Teams of Three make it out to our event as possible.
Pre-registration is available through the "Tickets" link here on the event page! Pre-register and save $5 per player!
- RULES AND FORMAT -
The tournament will be played across multiple rounds and sections, where each team tries to build up as many points as possible to qualify for our Top Ten, Top Four and finally Top Two spots.
At the start of the Top Ten, Top Four, and Top Two sections of the event, points for the remaining teams will be reset.
POINTS:
Each round, teams will play 1 (one) game of Apex Legends to gain points from kills and final placement in that game.
The points earned from final placement in a game are:
1st Place: 15 Points
2nd Place: 12 Points
3rd Place: 10 Points
4th Place: 10 Points
5th Place: 8 Points
6th Place: 8 Points
7th Place: 6 Points
8th Place: 6 Points
9th Place: 5 Points
10th-12th Place: 4 Points
13th-15th Place: 2 Points
16th-20th Place: 0 Points
Additionally, KILLS are worth 1.5 points each.
Each team's total points are placed on a "leaderboard" showing their placement compared to all other teams.
Points carry over across all rounds in each section, and your leaderboard position is determined from your total points.
Your leaderboard position is important; you need to stay out of the bottom levels of the leaderboard, or you risk elimination!
ELIMINATION:
At the end of Round 2 onward, the bottom 20% (rounded up) of the remaining teams will be eliminated. This will increase to 25% from Round 4 and up.
If there are more than 30 teams, eliminations begin from Round 1 onward and increase to 25% at Round 3.
Eliminations will continue at the end of each round until a round can end with no fewer than ten teams remaining (Top Ten).
TOP TEN:
Once our Top 10 have been decided, they are placed in the Top Ten leaderboard, with all points reset, and the rounds continue with the same scoring system.
At the end of Round 2 of the Top Ten, the bottom 3 teams will be eliminated. At the end of Round 4, another 3 teams are eliminated. This leaves our Top Four.
TOP FOUR/TOP TWO:
Once the Top Four have been determined, the remaining teams are placed in the Top Four leaderboard, with points reset, and the rounds continue with the same scoring system.
After Round 2, the bottom two teams are eliminated, and the remaining two teams are placed in the Top Two leaderboard with points reset. Two more rounds are played by each team; the team with more points at the end of these two rounds win.
PRIZES
The Top Two teams split the total prize pool, 66% and 33% respectively to the 1st and 2nd place teams.
REPORTING YOUR SCORE:
Players will show their score to one of the Full Combo TO staff throughout the event area at the end of their match. This is either the post-game score results screen while still in the match, or the "previous game results" screen for each individual player if you have backed out to the lobby.
We would encourage any Teams of Two to NOT back out to the lobby until your score is reported; we are unable to check your third player's "previous game stats" from the lobby, and therefore his stats WILL NOT COUNT if we do not see his # of kills from the "Squad Eliminated" post-match results screen.
Scores and placement on the leaderboards through the day will be publicly viewable online and in the event area.
TIEBREAKERS:
Total Kills over the day, then average finish placement.
- SETUPS -
All games will be played on Xbox One, on setups we provide, consisting of:
• Xbox One S console
• Standard Xbox One controller
• 23" Asus 2ms-delay HD monitor
• Stereo Headsets
• Converter for home-brought PS3/PS4 controller use on request
Additionally, players may bring other accessories from home, such as any model of thumbstick controller, headsets, KontrolFreeks, audio mixamps, etc, for use in their matches.
- INFO ABOUT PLAYSTATION CONVERTERS -
We will provide Brooks brand PS3/PS4-to-X1 controller converters to anyone who prefers to use their home-brought PS3/PS4 controller for this competition.
Headsets do not function when plugged directly into a 'converted' Playstation controller; Playstation users can use game chat and party chat by plugging headsets into our provided Xbox controller acting as the 2nd controller on that console.
Additionally, players are welcome to bring home-brought audio mixers/amps to see if your brand will work with our consoles for voice chat.
Converters are the only current method of utilizing PS4 controllers with X1 consoles.
