JSA is celebrating the contributions of WOMEN both throughout history and our future by featuring two upcoming female artists; Aly Honore & Elowyn Dickerson. Each with their own unique series that showcases inspiring women – ALY & ELOWYN are being HEaRd this March at the Jeffrey Scott Gallery.
Aly Honore is a local photographer that has put together “Sister Outsider” which takes diverse women and resituates them in contexts they have historically been erased from. This HEaRd body of work has a lot to say by embracing the juxtaposition of women and their settings to celebrate how far we’ve come, without denying there is still more work to be done.
Elowyn Dickerson has compiled a series of watercolor portraits, entitled “Coffee & Creatives” that highlights the community over competition feel that young female entrepreneurs in our area embody. All of the women featured in her work have been an inspiration to her throughout her journey in becoming HEaRd as a young female artist.
Both artists together with their different styles and mediums allow us to celebrate the diversity and success of young female creatives – we couldn't be more thrilled to host Aly & Elowyn this March! More details to come!
