Strikes, pickets, boycotts, fasts, and times in jail - it all happened in the farmworkers' fight for equality and justice. In honor of Cesar Chavez's birthday, we invite you to come see the film Fighting for our Lives, a moving documentary that depicts all these events. Join us for this important film and bring your family so they can learn our history and the work that still remains to be done.
Dr. Lea Ybarra, who was an activist with the UFW, and was jailed along with hundreds of other women and men in their fight for justice, will be present to share her experiences and lead the discussion. You are invited to come and share your stories and photos.
This will also be a wonderful opportunity to tour the Caminos exhibit and pay tribute to national UFW leaders like Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta as well as local leaders like Jessie de la Cruz.
