Fighting for our Survival: Recognizing Fresno’s HIV/AIDS activism from
1981 to now

Thursday, October 6 at 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Free and open to the public!
Refreshments will be available

Join us for a panel with activists, scholars, public health practitioners, and medical doctors on the history and continued legacy of HIV/AIDS activism in Fresno. Since the public onset of HIV/AIDS in 1981, queer communities fought for their survival amidst a growing pandemic. Experiencing hostility from the larger public and limited resources, it was members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies that fought for resources and support for those dying of HIV/AIDS in Fresno. Come learn from activists who were at the forefront of this work as well as people still doing this critical work in Fresno.

This panel is in recognition of the history of HIV/AIDS activism and mobilization and understanding of continued efforts in Fresno.
