FRESNO FIESTAS PATRIAS IS BACK!

Fiestas Patrias is celebrated during National Hispanic Heritage Month, commemorating independence from Spain and Portugal for countries in Latin America. This day honors freedom and celebrates national pride and culture in the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, as well as Latino Cultures that expand into the Caribbean.

The City of Fresno has a rich history of Latino culture. The first Fiestas Patrias celebration was held in Fresno in 1941, and we are now home to more than 250,000 Latinos within the city, with a growing majority across the Central Valley. Fresno weaves together generations of stories, tradition, music, arts, and corazón to form nuestra cultura. This year we celebrate the diversity in our Latino community, inviting all to come together and wear their cultural heritage with pride to celebrate freedom.

Join us for Downtown Fresno Fiestas Patrias 2023 as we bring together the culture and spirit of our gente from across the Central Valley!
