Stop by on November 7 to see our newest exhibit, Boone’s Paintings. Franklin Boone Watkins -- or Boone as he’s known to the art world -- was born in South Carolina in the 1950s. His moniker is a tribute to his relative, Daniel Boone, the American frontiersman of the south. Boone moved to Fresno from South Carolina at the age of six, attended Fresno City College, and joined the Army in 1973.

In his spare time, Boone likes to stay connected to his community by working at the Big Red Church, serving the homeless at Poverello House, and volunteering at Fresno Animal Shelter. He enjoys sharing his bass voice with the choir at his church, gardening with neighbors, and doing whatever he can to help the community he calls home.

Boone is a client at Community Vocational Services, Inc., an organization that works with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them with employment, integration, and independence.

Head over to Bitwise South Stadium at 5pm to see the exhibit, Boone’s Paintings. USBean will be serving up caffeine deliciousness. There will be food available for purchase, a full bar for purchasing drinks, and a DJ with certifiable groove-worthy tunes.
