Details

William Shakespeare’s comedic tale of mischief, magic, and romance comes to life onstage to the luscious music of Felix Mendelssohn. A story that transcends two worlds, mortals and fairies, it’s a whimsical and humorous homage to the transformative power of love. The dancers are at the height of their technical and dramatic abilities in Artistic Director Rodney Gustafson’s inventive, playful, and concise choreography, while beautifully designed sets and costumes make this a visually stunning production.

This program also features choreographer Kassandra Taylor Newberry’s awe-inspiring Fold, which first dazzled Santa Barbara audiences in 2018. In her signature quirky and virtuosic style, this perfect caricature of an underground poker game unfolds brilliantly before your eyes. Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer William Soleau will be premiering a new work created especially for this program, making this an exceptionally diverse evening of classical and contemporary dance.

Performed by State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara with student dancers from Fresno Ballet Theatre.
