Lisa Genova, a New York Times best-selling author and speaker, is often called the “Oliver Sacks of fiction.” Genova graduated as valedictorian from Bates College with a degree in Biopsychology and then earned a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Harvard University. Genova is best-known, however, as the author of the New York Times bestselling novels Still Alice, Left Neglected, Love Anthony, and Inside the O’Briens. Still Alice was made into an award-winning film in 2014 starring Julianne Moore as Alice.
Still Alice, the story of a woman who documents her struggle with her family, her profession and herself as she develops Alzheimer’s disease, spent 59 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list, won the 2008 Bronte Prize and the 2011 Bexley Book of the Year, and was nominated for the 2010 Indies Choice Debut Book of the Year by the American Booksellers Association.
**Lisa Genova tickets will be available for sale at the Saroyan Box Office on the morning of the lecture. They cannot be purchased online at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience. We look forward to a great lecture on April 5th and the unveiling of the 2017-2018 season lineup!**
