The City of Fresno has shown a commitment to encouraging the kinds of mixed-use residential development that thrive in a Downtown.  Changes adopted to the City's mixed-use ordinance in 2006 provide easier flexibility on requirements for landscaping, parking, building height, and more.

Mixed commercial-residential developments are now allowed throughout the Downtown area.  Innovative projects continue to become easier to complete as City leaders gain familiarity with the unique demands of the mixed-use and adaptive reuse projects common in urban areas.  It is truly easier than ever now to build in Downtown Fresno.  No doubt additional new development will be the result in the next few years.
