The real work of the Downtown Association is done in its four standing committees. Their efforts to beautify, promote, and grow Downtown's economy and street life, make the Downtown Association your source for everything Downtown.

Design

From flower plantings, to art restoration, to storefront improvements, the Design Committee seeks to improve the physical appearance of Downtown. In addition to putting on the annual Art Gala party, Design is introducing new banners to the Mall, and plans to expand the banners to other Downtown neighborhoods.

Promotions

The huge events put on by the Promotions Committee bring in most of the Downtown Associations revenue, and attract the most people to visit Downtown. Sudz in the City has become a signature event for Fresno. Cinco de Mayo and Mexican Independence Day festivals bring more people to Downtown in a weekend than any other attraction.

Board of Directors Meeting:

Meets every 4th Tuesday of each month, 5:30 p.m., 2014 Tulare Street (Patterson Building) Second Floor Conference Room.

Economic Restructuring Committee

The range of projects taken on by the Economic Development Committee include the new Downtown Dining Directory, and pushing for new Downtown housing by hosting a community forum and establishing a Downtown Residents Association. But the biggest Downtown project ever is currently being planned.

Fulton Plaza Thursdays, the Downtown Association weekly street fairs, will change the way people think about Downtown. Live bands, vendor booths, a beer garden, a full farmer's market, and an artists display area are just the beginning of what we have planned.

Organization

The glue that holds it all together is the Organization Committee. From publishing our monthly newsletter, to holding elections for Officers and Board vacancies, to maintaining an information kiosk at Fulton Plaza, the work of the Organization Committee makes all the other work possible.

Committee meets every 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:30pm at Milano, 1243 Fulton Mall.
